Overview: Online scams trick individuals into giving away sensitive information or money. These may come through emails, texts, calls, or social media.

Types of Scams:

  • Phishing: Fake emails asking for personal info or login credentials

  • Smishing: Scam messages via SMS/text

  • Social Engineering: Psychological manipulation to get access or information

Example Scenario: James receives an email from what appears to be his bank, asking him to confirm his account by clicking a link. The email has a familiar logo but a strange sender address. This is a phishing attempt. James should delete it and report it to his bank.
